Dates/Times: MW 9:30-10:45
Modality: Hybrid (Synchronous Online with occasional face to face – Hemsley Theatre)
Description: This is a collaborative class in which we will collect oral stories with the goal of developing and performing a piece of devised verbatim theatre. Students will engage in original research-based theatre fieldwork and learn the basic foundations of accent collection/acquisition, interview technique/etiquette, and vocal performance skills. This class will consider how exploring someone else’s speech and story influences our understanding and empathy of another person. We will investigate voice and storytelling in the digital age.
